ARE YOU SEEING NEW CLIENTS?

I do currently have openings for new clients. I update this page regularly and will put a notification if I am unable to accept new clients. 

IS IT OKAY TO CALL?

Yes, you can give me a call at my direct confidential phone number (323) 813-8714 when you are ready to talk about therapy. I probably will not be available immediately by telephone. However, feel free to leave a a confidential voicemail and I will try to contact you back within 24 hours. Please be sure to let me know if it's okay to leave a message for you. You can also contact me through email.  

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT?

First appointments can be very stressful for clients, especially if you have never seen a therapist before. If you haven't had a chance to fill in forms, expect to complete those at your first appointment. After that, we will spend time talking and letting me understand what you are looking for in a therapist.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS AND HOW FREQUENTLY WILL WE MEET? 

Sessions generally are 45 to 50 minutes long and take place once a week. Sometimes special circumstances are present and we decide together what would benefit from longer, less frequent sessions. Also, as progress takes place during therapy, sometimes we decide to see each other less frequently, possibly twice a month or even once a month. And if there is a very difficult situation happening, there may be benefits to meeting more frequently in the beginning.

I accept most major HMO and PPO plans. I also work with sliding fee scales for clients paying privately.

Insurance coverage depends on your diagnosis, which I cannot know until you are evaluated. I make every effort to ensure that you receive the full benefit to which you are entitled under your insurance. Some questions you may wish to ask when you verify your benefits are:

  • What does my mental health insurance benefits cover?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my mental health insurance cover?

  • What is my co-payment amount per session?

  • Do I need an authorization number prior to treatment?

Please note: Some clients prefer not to receive a mental health diagnosis, as required by insurance, and therefore decide to pay out of pocket. If you would rather not use your insurance coverage or if you are currently uninsured, we have options to suit your needs. My fee is $120-$160 per session, if that is not feasible, please ask about my sliding fee-scale when you call to schedule an appointment.

Payment is by check or cash due at each session.
